Craps Beginner Guide: Overview

The game of Craps is the classic dice game played in casinos around the world (and often seen being played in film and TV scenes set in casinos), and is often the table game that draws the most sociable crowd to it. Beneath a veneer of somewhat baffling jargon that can make the game seem rather complex to outsiders, there is actually a very simple game at the heart of Craps that really isn't difficult to learn.

A large sunken table is the traditional casino ‘arena' for this game, featuring sectored marking on its tabletop where a variety of different bets can be laid. These bets are placed to predict a number of outcomes when one player, called ‘the Shooter', throws a pair of dice along the table.
