How To Bet

In this popular poker game the Ante bet is not optional, it is required. First you must select a chip value. Once the chip value is select you must place the Ante bet by clicking on its spot. The Ante spot is located on the table and each click will place the selected chip on the table. While you must have enough outstanding to cover twice the amount of the Ante bet, you must also meet the table minimum and not exceed the table maximum.

You may either click the Bet circle or the RAISE button to go head-to-head against the Dealer's hand and place a Play bet. The Play bet is valued at twice the amount of your Ante bet; no smaller and no larger.

Click on the Side Bet Bonus in order to place this elective bet. This wager is only equal to one credit.

When if desired the Side Bet has been made then click on the DEAL button. That single credit will go down in the Side Bet Bonus drop. An indication that you have done this correctly will be the green light that will automatically come on.

Bets may be removed from the table either by holding the SHIFT key while clicking on the bet you wish to remove or to take out all bets the CLEAR button should be clicked.

The REBET button should be clicked to duplicate your previous bet after one has just been finished. The REBET button repeats your previous bet pattern including any Side Bet Bonus if one was made. Of course you may alter any of those bets at this time but the DEAL button should be clicked for play to begin.

To increase you Ante bet you may click the DOUBLE BET button. Each click of this button will double the amount of your Ante bet. If no bet has been made, then that action will be equal to clicking the REBET followed by the DOUBLE BET button. Be aware though, that this feature is only available if doing so will not result in the table maximum being exceeded.

Poker Hand Rankings

Caribbean Stud Poker hands have several possible results. If cards that are said to have the same rank, then that means that all of the cards associated with that rank, must also have the same number or picture. For example, three 10s or two 5s all have the same rank. Three Jacks or two Kings also have the same rank. Below is a list of several possible Poker outcomes and we have ranked them from highest to lowest.

Royal Flush: The highest and hence, most powerful on the list. In this outcome one holds five cards that have the same suit and are ranked consecutively. An example of this would be 10-Jack-Queen-King-Ace of Clubs.

  • Straight Flush: In this outcome one holds five cards in ascending rank and of the same suit as in the example 6-7-8-9-10 of Diamonds.
  • Four-of-a-Kind: In this outcome one has four cards that are all of similar rank.
  • Full House: This outcome includes both Three-of-a-Kind and One Pair.
  • Flush: Five cards combine to make this outcome but they must be of similar suit.
  • Straight: This outcome means that five cards that are ranked in ascending order are of mixed suits. In this example the Ace can either be the high or low card.
  • Three-of-a-Kind: This means that three cards are held and are of the same rank.
  • Two Pair: This outcome means that one holds two different sets of cards but each set will be of similar rank.
  • One Pair: This outcome means that one holds two cards of similar rank.
  • High Card: This hand is the lowest of all and will contain five non-matching cards.

Comparing Poker Hands

Using the ranking list as a guide, when compared head-to-head and two hands differ in their outcomes, the hand that wins will be the one who ranks higher on the list.

The ranking list always dictates which hand will win even if both hands are equal. In cases where both hands have identical outcomes, the hand that has the superior value will win.

If an outcome is either One Pair, Three-of-a-Kind, or Four-of-a-Kind the winner will be the one who holds the higher card.

If an outcome is a Two Pair then the Pair who holds the higher card will win. Case in point: 3-3-5-5 will win over a 2-2-4-4 hand.

The same rule applies to all hands. The hand that has the highest card value will win over one that has the same ranking. When two hands both hold a winning combination then the cards that remain will then be compared.

When comparing a Straight, Flush, or Straight Flush hands, the hand with the higher high card wins. For example, Straight 7-8-9-10-J beats straight 6-7-8-9-10. Likewise, straight 7-8-9-10-J beats straight A-2-3-4-5 because the Jack high card beats the 5 high card.

If the two hands have same winning outcomes, then the remaining cards in the hand are examined. For example, a 6-3-3-7-7 beats a 4-3-3-7-7 because, while the high and low Pairs both match, the remaining 6 beats the 4. Likewise, a 2-9-J-8-8 beats a 4-5-J-8-8. The Pair of 8s match, as do the high card Jacks, but looking at the next highest cards, the 9 beats the 5.

Playing Against The Dealer

The Dealer's hand will be shown and evaluated if the Player has opted to raise it. In order to play then the Dealer must have either an Ace-King combination or higher. If the Dealer's hand holds anything less then the Player will win that hand regardless if the Player really has the better hand or not. In this case the Player will both win 1 to 1 on the Ante bet and the Play bet shall be returned.

When the Dealer does decide to play and he has the better hand, the player will forfeit both Ante and Play bets. However, the Player will win 1 to 1 on Ante bet when the Player has the better hand. The amount of the Player's Play Bet win will be determined by the main pay table. If in a head-to-head comparison both hands are identical, then that hand results in a push which means neither hand has won. In that case both the Player's Ante and Play bets will be returned.

Bonus

Side Bet Bonus

It is important to remember that in order to qualify for the Side Bet Bonus award then an Ante bet has to be placed prior to cards being dealt. If the Player holds a Flush or higher hand, then the Player will win the Side Bet Bonus. Please refer to the pay table to determine the amount of the reward.

Players should remember that the Side Bet Bonus rewards have nothing to do with the Dealer's hand. In fact the Dealer does not need to lose the hand or eve play for that matter for the Player to win the award.
